Today we are going to talk about organization and getting started with your online business.

Find Your Niche

Finding your niche so you can concentrate. When you find out what your specialty is then you can start to promote to the people that are working on the same type of things you are. Are you just with a program to make money as an affiliate? Do you have your own website that goes back to your affiliate site? Are you selling homemade products?

Are you someone that is selling from his/her own store or mall? There are so many different things to promote and you want to reach your target audience to get the results that you are seeking.

Organize Your Tasks

Outline your tasks daily using a day planner. If you use Safelists, Text Exchanges, ect. keep
track of the day and time you post/email so you will easily know when you can send your
advertisements again. This is a great time saver.

Simplify Your Email

If you have multiple email accounts a program called Thunderbird2 by Mozilla is tops; login one place and check them all at once. Of course I like combined benefits so I use FreeTrafficBar. Not only does it provide a convenient way to check your email from the toolbar but it is also a free way to advertise your business or affiliate program.

Pace Yourself

Allot times for every task to get the most important done early when you are full of energy. Take breaks so you can re-evaluate what you are doing and be more receptive to tasks still to be done. Organization will set you above the crowd because you will accomplish more.

Advertising Methods

In order to reach your crowd after finding your niche you need to advertise to your target. Go to forums and post to the ones that fit your niche so you will be working your ads to people with the same goals and targets you have. In the forums you will not be able to blatantly advertise. Make legitimate, helpful posts.

Ask questions. Whatever you do at the forums you need to be mindful of the forum rules. Also do not compromise reputation. Remember your reputation is all you have online and it will follow you. After you have made a few posts then you can go in and set up your signature with a link to your business or affiliate program. If the other members enjoyed or learned from your post they might want to follow up by visiting your site.

Mentors are great

Mentors get you trained and help stimulate the learning process. They keep you fortified with uplifting values and appeal to your excitement. With the right mentor you will go farther because you are learning from them, this shortens your learning curve. When you work with others listen and you will gain information from them from what they have been doing in their promotion. Just make sure you pick a mentor that suits you and what you are trying to accomplish.

Use every avenue of promotion

Especially when you are first starting out. You may not have a fortune to put into advertising so use the free methods. I am sure you know what traffic exchanges are. Many say that traffic exchanges are a waste of time but for a newbie Internet marketer traffic exchanges might help get your name out there. A great traffic exchange to start with is Traffic Swarm. If I am not mistaken TrafficSwarm is still one of the best exchanges and has been around for some time.
TrafficSwarm is different than most traffic exchanges but well worth the effort.

Remember when joining traffic exchanges that most (TrafficSwarm excluded) also have a place to insert your banners and some even have a place for a text ad. Use all of these to gain more exposure for your site.

Also site rotators are great if you are advertising more than one site. Just make sure the traffic exchange allows rotators. No since risking your account for nothing. If you are not sure where to get a rotator I recommend Free Vital Ads They have a link cloaker, rotator, plus you can advertise your business. Free Vital Ads sister site,
Vital Ad Views, is also a great Safelist. I use it on a regular basis.

One more very important thing about traffic exchanges. This is the biggest mistake people make when using a traffic exchange. Please, please do not drive your traffic to your website or affiliate site. Always send your traffic to a lead capture page otherwise you lose that prospect forever. Remember surfer’s are seeing your page for only one reason; to get credits to send traffic to THEIR site. You need an interesting, yet short lead capture page to catch the attention of surfers so they will sign up and you can market to them in the future.

Yes this means having an autoresponder but you can get one fairly inexpensively at
RapidResponseBot. I use RapidresponseBot myself and have never had a problem with them. Another great autoresponder is Aweber. They are a bit more expensive than Rapidresponsebot but worth the investment if it fits into your budget.

Bloggers

I haven’t forgotten you bloggers either. There are also blog exchanges. They work the same as regular traffic exchanges, you view others blogs to get traffic to your blog.

Tracking

Leave nothing to chance, track your ads so you will know what is working and what isn’t. I can not stress this enough. You do not want to be spending your valuable time continuing to use methods that do not produce results. This does not mean to run one ad and if it doesn’t give you results to chuck it and move on. There are variables to consider first. Was your title good? Could you improve it? What about your ad? Try changing things around a bit and try different tactics.

If after giving a method a good chance to work and you are still not getting results, then move on to something new. Remember, just because it sounds good to you doesn’t mean it will get the attention of the people you are marketing to.

The Truth

Advertise, and advertise some more, you just have to get the word out. Don’t expect to be in the money in a day or two regardless of what anyone tells you. It takes time and effort to make it on the internet. Even the big names put their logos and advertising out there for millions of dollars. You can start with the free ones and after you start making money move on and put your money out for paid advertising. Keep your records so you know what you are spending and what is bringing the people to your site.

This is just a few of the ways to make your time work better with tools online. If you decide to buy any software to help with your online ventures be sure to check it out and see what other people have to say about it at Google. This is a way to find out before you have put out your money for software that will not be used. Market wisely and then you will be in the profit zone.
