This is an update to an earlier post The Best Blogging Tools. If you have been following my blog you probably know I am always looking for ways to customize WordPress and make it easier and more functional. If you are a new reader thanks for visiting!
Recently I have found more great plugins that I have started using and I want to share them with you.
The most recent discovery I found (wish I had found it before I started redoing my blog this past weekend. I apologize again for any interruptions I may have caused.) is:

Maintenance Mode: This plugin is just what it sounds like. It allows you to put your blog in maintenance mode while you work on your site. In my case it would have been great this past Saturday as I was installing and tweaking a new theme (I hope you like the new look!).
Broken Links Remover: “Helps you fix bad/broken links, both text links(anchor tags) and image links (img tags). It blocks the display of such links on your WordPress post/page, until you fix them. These are not made visible to search engine robots as well, until you correct them.
Counterize II: Is a small Statistics-Plugin for WordPress, which saves IP, time stamp, visited URL, referring URL and browser information in the database and displays total hits, unique hits and other statistics in WordPress webpages. Counterize II is a great plugin and I highly recommend it.
Dofollow Trackbacks: I posted on this subject in an earlier post as well which you can read here. This is still the best plugin I have found for dofollow. As you may notice this is a dofollow blog. This is one of the best ways to build backlinks. Just make sure you use Akismet and moderate your comments so you don’t end up with a bunch of spam comments.
Featured Content Gallery: I have not implemented this plugin yet (mostly because my theme is not setup for it) but I think it would be a great plugin. If you have the know how to use this plugin on a blog that is not set up for it (which I am trying to learn) I believe it could be great. There are WordPress themes around that are setup to use this plugin but for me I did not like them as well as this new one I have. It is all a matter or personal preference so look around at the themes available if you are interested in using this plugin and do not have the know how to input the code to make it work yourself.
Global Translator: In my opinion I think this is one of the best plugins I have found. I do know how many times I have gone to website or blog that was written in Russian or German ect. so I was unable to read their information. With this plugin your readers can choose to have your pages translated into their native language instead of closing your blog and moving on.
No Revisions: Whenever you save a change in a post in WordPress 2.6, it saves a copy of the old version as well as your changed version. If you hit save a lot while writing, that can add up to a lot of extra crud in your database. This plugin states WordPress 2.6 but I still use it as I don’t know if 2.7 has the same habit of saving all revisions to the database. Sometimes I find myself editing my posts a few times before I post them (plus I know 2.6 auto saves as I write).
RSS Power Plus: This plugin will, when a new post is published, submit the rss feed for this post only (not the entire domains feed) to the configured RSS aggregator websites, including where applicable the tags used in the post. By Tim Buchalka. You can also get a free version of this plugin by signing up with 12 Days To Page One ecourse which also comes with fully optimized WordPress and video tutorials to help you set it up correctly.
WordPress Related Posts: Generate a related posts list via tags of WordPress.
WP125: Easily manage 125×125 ads within your WordPress Dashboard.
WP Auto Tagger: Automatically finds tags based on your post content.
I hope you find some useful plugins here to make your WordPress experience even better.
If you have any plugins you want to see added please leave a comment and I will check them out.
Until next time,
