If you run a blog you know how difficult it can be sometimes to come up with unique quality content. Even natural born writers experience writers block occasionally.
So what do you do when you just can’t think of a good article to write? Or better yet, what do you do when you know you need to post a new article but for whatever reason you just don’t have time to write it?
Well, there are a few ways you can go about getting unique content and I have written about a couple of these in a Getting Quality Content For Your Blog.
First is research.
Decide on your topic and scour the search engines. Read other peoples articles, sales letters, wiki’s, ect. for information to create your article. Don’t plagiarize! I said it in Getting Quality Content For Your Blog and I will say it again here. It’s like writing a report for school. Do your research then write your article in your own words.
But this does not help when you are short on time!
Second is using PLR.
PLR articles are a great way to get content but only if you rework the article to make it your own. Never use them “as is”. For more on this subject, including using content generators, read this article.
Again time consuming!
The third and most recent way I have found. Posting other peoples articles legally.
MyArticleNetwork
I have been using My Article Network for awhile now and I have to say it has been a life saver for me at times. I am not a natural born writer unfortunately so I use PLR a lot to help me create articles but there are days when I just don’t have time to do the work required to use PLR articles. When I stumbled across MyArticleNetwork I decided to give them a try.
Here are the pros and cons to using this service.
Pros:
- Usually provide good articles.
- Articles submitted to your email for review. You can then choose to accept or reject the articles straight from your email.
- Provide feedback to the author.
- Free to sign up your blog to receive articles.
- Good tutorials to help you get started.
- No author resource box so it looks like the article came from you.
- Pick categories that match your blog content.
- Auto approve new articles – I do not recommend this. The reason is below in cons.
Cons:
- MyArticleNetwork provides an article spinner for their members that submit articles. Problem is some authors apparently do not read their articles after spinning them. Therefor you have to make sure You read each article in it’s entirety before you accept them. Otherwise you may accept articles that don’t make any sense.
- Can not control how many articles are posted in a day. If you approve 5 articles all will be posted within minutes.
- Only compatible with self-hosted blogs.
Unique Article Wizard
This is a new service for me but I already see advantages of using this service over MyArticleNetwork.
Pros:
- Blog plugins that adds UAW control panel to your settings. What this means is you can set up everything right from your blog control panel. The only thing you can not do from your control panel is set up your affiliate account if you choose to sign up.
Plugins provided for:
Article Beach
Article Dashboard
Article Friendly
ArticleMS
ArticleMS 2
Drupal 5
Drupal 6
Joomla v1.13
Joomla v1.5+
Wordpress (not sure if it supports Wordpress.com or just the self-hosted Wordpress)
Blogspot
- Control how many articles you receive a day.
- Auto post articles – again I do not recommend this for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, I want to verify the content of the article and make sure it is something I want posted on my site. Second, if you do not select auto post then the articles will be saved as drafts which means you can control how many articles are posted per day.
- You have the option to allow video, audio and graphics in the article posts. It is my understanding that using these in your posts can increase your search engine rankings.
- You can select email notification when you receive an article.
- Option to include your Unique Article Link. I like this idea as I have received a few requests from readers wanting to copy specific articles to their website/blog. What this feature does is provide a link at the end of the resource box which will take the reader to a unique version of the same article. Rather than duplicate the article on your/my site, the reader will get their own version which helps the author, the reader and you. Also each new version of the article that is received through your link will have a link above the resource box like: “Article Kindly Provided by Tracy’s Internet Marketing” with a backlink to your site!
Cons:
The only con I have found so far, if you want to call it that, is that the articles will have a resource box so your readers will know the article did not come from you. Personally I don’t think this matters much. It is still a win/win situation because you are providing quality content to your readers, as well as helping out a fellow internet marketer by publishing their article. I really do not think your readers will care who or where the content comes from as long as they find it useful.
For Article Marketers
There is also a flip side to both of these programs for article marketers. Both services are article submitters. As this article is getting a bit long winded I am not going to go detail about that side of the programs. That is for another article.
If you are interested in article marketing check out http://tracywheeleronline.com/recommends/MyArticleNetwork and http://tracywheeleronline.com/recommends/UniqueArticleWizard for more information (I am not sure why the links don’t show as links but you can copy and paste into your browser and they will work).
To sign up to receive articles for your blog go to UAW Plugins for Various Article Directories (scroll down to “Listing your Site With Us is Easy”) and MyArticleNetwork.
Until next time,
