Blogging Pitfalls Part Two

As promised today we are going to discuss the setup and layout of your blog.

Again, this is a mistake I made when I first started this blog. Even though I have been an internet marketer for over 10 years, I did not have a clue about blogging when I started therefor I made many mistakes. I ended up making several changes to the theme and layout and still do occasionally. Unfortunately, sometimes when there are Wordpress updates you may find that your chosen theme no longer works and you are forced to find a new one. Keep this in mind.

The major thing when starting a blog is to scour the internet and find a nice, clean theme. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of Wordpress themes available for free or you could purchase a theme if you choose. Just do a search for free Wordpress themes and you will see what I mean.

Obviously, this does not count if you are using Wordpress.com or Blogger or any of the other free blogging platforms available. Unfortunately, you are only allowed to do so much with those platforms which is why I always recommend getting your own domain when blogging for business.

The main thing is not to use the default themes as this will make your blog look like every other amateur blog on the web. You want to define your style and your personality in your blog. (more…)

The Google Cash Sniper

The major gurus are making new launches in the internet marketing niche all the time. New products in the form of training courses, ebooks, software, etc.

An interesting current example is Google Cash Sniper being offered by Chris Fox in early July

Because the gurus need and want to expand their marketing reach through an army of hardworking affiliates, they are willing to pay commissions for affiliate sales of 50% and even more.

The other good thing is that the product developers usually provide a broad variety of relevant marketing materials that they suggest their affiliates use. Examples are banners, pay per click ad copy, email series, videos, etc. (more…)

Improve Your Blog Usability

No matter how smart your website design is, if it is hard to reach the content of your site then your site is as useful as an empty shell. Here are some tips to improve the usability of your website to insure it serves its functions optimally.

The first method is to make certain the typography of your content is suitable. If you have large blocks of text, insure to use CSS to space out the lines accordingly. The longer a single line of text is, the greater the line-height of each line should be. In addition, make certain the font size of your text is great enough to read simply. Some sites have 10-pixel-tall text in Verdana font; while that may look neat and tidy, you have to essentially strain your eyes to read the actual text.

It is highly probable that you have heard about it as a popular blogging platform, but there are some amazing things for which you could use it. One can use Wordpress to create a website or CMS (Content Management System), which has several intrinsic advantages:

It is very easy when you have fantastico in the domain control panel and then it simply involves a few clicks and your Wordpress site is up and ready. In case fantastico is not available you have to do this manually though it is completely uncomplicated if you follow the recommended directions. In case you feel awkward with both these options, get some one to do it for you. It won’t be pricey to do this as it doesn’t take a long time for someone who knows what their doing.
